Ziel Feldman, developer at HFZ, is selling his triplex penthouse at the Marquand condominium at 11 East 68th Street in Manhattan for $27.5 million. The 21-room, 6,100-square-foot unit features black and dark-brown marble, black-velvet furniture, and dark wood paneling throughout. It includes five bedrooms, four full bathrooms, a grand formal dining room seating 22, private elevator access, Central Park views, and 2,600 square feet of private terraces.

Feldman and his wife, Helene, purchased the penthouse when the building converted over a decade ago. Unlike other units finished in creams and neutrals, Feldman chose a bold, dark aesthetic that houses artworks by Tracey Emin, Sanford Biggers, John Chamberlain, and George Condo, among others.

The price represents a significant reduction from Feldman's 2020 asking price of $39 million, when he was managing investor lawsuits and delinquent loans at HFZ. The firm collapsed after Feldman's former partner, Nir Meir, was arrested and charged with an $86 million fraud scheme involving the XI, a High Line tower designed by Bjarke Ingels. Meir awaits trial.

The listing includes digital renderings showing the apartment redesigned in creams and neutrals. Listing brokers Madeline Hult Elghanayan and Sabrina Saltiel represent the sale for Douglas Elliman. Feldman has since re-entered real estate development more quietly through the national affordable and workforce housing firm GoodHomes, which he runs with his daughter.
