Solstad House General Store, a knickknack shop based in Beacon, N.Y., signed a five-year lease for a 1,200-square-foot space at 167 Mott Street in Manhattan's Nolita neighborhood. The asking rent is $6,750 per month.
Meridian Retail Leasing brokered the deal for both landlord and tenant. Broker Carson Shahrabani said the transaction closed in about two weeks, with the store set to open before the holidays. Brokers Shahrabani, Noam Aziz and Michael Escava handled the deal.
Solstad House sells home goods, food items, puzzles, personal care products and clothing. Aziz noted that the store's existing Beacon customers who live in Manhattan now have access to the brand in the city.
The building at 167 Mott Street is owned by Emmanuel Stark. Stark bought the seven-story property in 2015 for $17 million. The building contains 26 residential units and two ground-floor retail spaces ranging from 500 to 600 square feet, not counting cellars.
